How to keep fit from swimming
The benefits of swimming and how to keep fit without hurting your joints.Swimming is such a good exercise and I am going to try to let you know how to keep fit from doing this. It is a marvelous way to keep fit without hurting your bones as you don't put a lot of pressure on them at all. It also helps with your breathing, and your cardiovascular. So it will keep your blood pressure down, you will look good, feel good and most importantly keep fit.
The benefits of swimming and how to keep fit and feel good.It also releases hormones called endorphins into your brain so you will always feel brilliant after a good work out. It makes you feel as though you could go and do it all over again - although if you actually tried to do this you would probably find that you couldn't.
The benefits of swimming and how to keep fit if you are over 40.I suggest that if you are over 40 years old and haven't exercised in a long while or ever that you visit your GP before starting any exercise programme.
The benefits of swimming and how to keep fit if you cant swim.First of all you need to be able to swim to gain the real benefits of swimming. If you cant swim, this is something that can be learnt at any age. It may seem daunting as an adult, but if you choose the right teacher it is possible. Even if you have a phobia, it can be overcome. Once this has been achieved you will really grow to see the benefits of swimming.
Most of us have swam at some point in our lives, even if it was when we were young with the school. Once we reach a certain age, we tend to start becoming more sedentary. Our lives slowly become where we go from the office chair to the couch. Its something that creeps up on us.
The benefits of swimming and how to keep fit and avoid injury. So its not healthy to go from no exercise to swimming 100 laps in one day. We will just end up with an injury, put ourselves off wanting to go back, and want to stay in bed for the week.
So we start to work out by doing a little up to 3 times a week if possible. If you start to feel this is straining you - then reduce down to 2 or even once a week until you feel comfortable. Your body will tell you how it feels. Listen to it.
So if you can, swim 3 times a week. At first just take it really slowly. Do about 10 to 15 minutes only. See how far you can swim in 10 minutes. Don't try and be fast. Keep to breast stroke to start with.
Do this for one month.
Then add on another 5 minutes, so work out for about 20 minutes.
Progression. You will then want to swim using laps or lengths.
By now it would be a good idea to start using other strokes. Front crawl is very good cardiovascular exercise but I would suggest having a few lessons if you have never perfected this as it is important to breath properly. You can do more damage to your body doing it badly.
So every month keep adding on another 5 minutes or even start using lengths, an extra length a month.
You will be able to judge by your own body eventually as to whether you should start increasing your time and speed or whether to stay static for an extra week or month.
When you feel comfortable and you are achieving up to 30 minutes 3 times a week, add an extra day. Again do this monthly unless you really feel that your body is ready to take on more. Remember I am suggesting a work out from the perspective of someone that has not ever exercised in their adult life.
Everyone is different. Now, how much you would like to put into your swimming depends on you. You can either stay with 30 minutes for 3 times a week and I can assure you that is ample for you to be a healthy person. This will keep you fit.
But if you are an all or nothing person and want to go for the burn (like me) I would suggest that you can go up to 6 days a week but always make sure you have a day off in order for you body to re-charge.
The benefits of swimming lessons. Swimming lessons are highly recommended if you are going to put a lot in to it. For example if you are swimming between 4 to 6 times a week for an hour I highly recommend having some extra lessons. Even if you feel you can swim, I would still do this. If your going to put so much time into something you might as well do it as well as you possible can. Swimming is all about technique not speed. The better your technique, the faster you will become. In fact you will be swimming slower but getting to your destination faster. You must have seen those people that crazily wave there arms and legs around making huge splashes and getting no where fast. You need to learn to glide through the water, hardly making a ripple or noise. It is an art form.
You will look and feel great if you follow this advice on how to keep fit.
