Facebook and Money
FaceBook, I Wish I Had Done It First
I wish I had created FaceBook
or Reddit
or even HubPages.
How annoying.
I used to feel the same about the cats eyes and the rubic cube. I cant even do the cube let alone invent it.
Why don’t these things enter my head?
I would be rich by now.
Do you like FaceBook?
Why are you there?
Why are you on FaceBook ?
Do you know your friends?
Do you accept everyone’s friend requests?
Is your friend list long?
Are you showing off?
What game are we all playing in this virtual world?
Do you get fed up seeing everyone’s every waking moment of life?
‘Just got up’
‘Night peeps’
Where is the privacy?
What do you say to your real friends when you meet for coffee? “How are you, oh yeah I know, you have a toothache and couldn’t sleep last night”.
Where will it end?
When will it end?
Never!
We will be tied to our homes all fat and unhealthy, waxy and pale from never seeing the sunlight or running in the park.
We will have our groceries delivered by the poor people who can’t afford a computer so know nothing of what we have.
But we love it.
We can’t live without it
So why moan?
Enjoy it.
No worries then.
If you think we’re bad, imagine how our children will be?
Maybe it will have the opposite effect. They will see their elders huddled at the desk or on the couch moving from the kitchen to the loo and back to the computer and it will put them off.
They will want sunshine and air along with exercise, what ever that is?
Are they mad?

Without a doubt Linda. What on earth is Mark Zukerburg doing? Crazy me thinks
If only...
Good hub!
Thanks Albertsj. Yes, if only....... lol
I think the topic for me would be I wish I had the profit Facebook generates. As for creating it I think the continuous legal battles they face would give me a headache! lol - Great hub, :)
I heard a great quote on the radio today by someone impersonating Zuckerberg, "I've never made being evil so social!" I was cracking up driving but I think for alot of us it's true. I appreciate how I can connect to different friends and people from my past on there but I don't want all my personal business for everyone to devour. Great hub!
That was a fun read, every one has "what if moments" in there life, some we are closer to achieving and let them slip away while others are more pie in the sky. Try and build something and do your best everyday, will get you farther than those that end life with only what if's.
On a lighter side though yeah people need to stop posting every day activities in fb and twitterthe grocery update is not needed.
R9139, I hadn't thought about that. I wonder if they get involved or send their people?
Great quote Alecia. I hate meeting people from school. Hence the cat. I am not hiding behind this cat from my virtual friends, no, Im hiding from my school friends. HeHeh. 'what do I have to hide' you may ask. Nothing! I have no reason. If you dig into my account I do have a piccy, shame about timeline, I will have to fix it. lol
CZCZCZ, very profound. Maybe we should set achievable goals but still keep the pie in the sky ones in our dreams, you never know, or do we need to be a geek to reach the massive ones?
I loved this hub and of course I, too, wish I created Facebook. Having said that, I hardly ever go on it. I find it all so exhausting.
I wish I had created one of those billion dollar websites that are making hundreds of dollars per second! I don't like FB, I am only there in the first place because I can keep in touch with my brothers and now to keep in touch with my hub family. Other than that I don't really use it much.
lesleysherwood, Love your twist on FB.Am adding your link to my hub about FB Timeline.
This was a fun read, and a satisfying one on two counts: I see I have company in wishing I'd invented some of these things before anyone else did, and, what a time waster fb can be! That's a heady thought...fb inventors found a way to make a fortune based on others wasting their time.
But I'm going to take a cosmic view, akin to our kids (in my case, grandkids) coming to a different perspective in the future. Could it be that fb is nothing but a big fad, like hula hoops???
Cool Hub, rated up and funny.
lesleysherwood! I love this little Hub :) night peeps made me giggle. Sometimes I do get sick of being so connected. So I turn off the phone, shut down the computer, and just sit for an hour or two. It helps...
Great Lesley! I say as a group project, we all create a social media site that is BETTER than Facebook. We can all split the profits. I love Facebook, I used to be a myspace fanatic. I just wish I could personalize my profile with music and a template. Great spunky hub!
I agree with Tammy - if Zuckerberg can do it, so can we (collectively, at least). Hey - I'd go for a small percentage of a gaziilion dollars. Great hub! Voted up and interesting.
Hi breakfastpop I have only found it exhausting since that stupid timeline. We just have to be careful it doesn't fritter our writing time away, its quite addictive :)
Hello my lovely Cardisa, I notice you're now on Pinterest though. If you have any tips,,,,, help me???? lol. Seriously - lets start our own me thinks.
Hey Steve, thanks for linking up. I will do the same from here to yrs. Also thanks for sharing me to FB :D
Sally's Trove you could be right. It might all fade away. Chat rooms did. But as many of us here seem to like the idea of money, what can we do that is better!!!! We do need to get together, all of our brains will make one massive one.
Hi there my good friend Ardie, thanks for visiting my humble abode. I don't know whether the fact that my phone only cost me a fiver and I can only get to FB when im next to a computer is a good or bad thing. Prob good, I imagine I would ignore the whole world if i had a phone with all my lovely friends walking to work etc with me. Ha ha. So i don't blame you for SWITCHING OFF.
Tammy, that is a fantastic idea. They ruined MySpace and are doing the same to FB with timeline. Once on never to be got rid of. So the first rule could be 'no timeline'. lol
Dear Marcy Goodfleisch, thanks for voting. I agree with Tammy as well. We will all have to think of something new, something better, better than everything out there. What can it be???? I REALLY WANT THIS.!!!!! heheh
Hi Lesley! You have asked some really great questions! I guess I would have liked to have created FB. Sometimes I like it, other times not. Great questions requiring some real thought!
Technology sure is easing things for us :)
Only wish it was sooner huh...lol
Good one...Lesley
Thanks Dexter for your encouraging comment. I would love the money wouldn't you? Ha ha. I know what you mean though, I think we all have a love/hate relationship with Facebook. I have one family member that's always closing and reopening her account. I think people think it can never be deleted permanently, but it can, you just have to work out how to find the well hidden delete button opposed to the unsubscribe.
Dear Ruchira
True....and I wish I had jumped on board a lot sooner too. I might be richer than I am today.... OMG... anyone would think I was money obsessed:)
I too wish that came up with the idea of facebook. I wonder what I can come up with that would be just as successful......hmm?
Thats the trouble Dr.Ope..... all the ideas are gone............ I think.
Voted up, funny and interesting. I refuse to become a member of Facebook because I'm worried about the privacy angle, but most of all because I spend enough time online already (with hubpages!) and don't want to become as you described - stuck indoors and glued to the computer! I value going out in the fresh air, communing with nature and actually, really talking to my friends, sharing experiences with them like shopping and viewing the world up close and personal. Thanks for a good read and for asking the important questions. I'm sure there are plenty of good ideas left, though; wish I could think of them!
Hi Annart. Stick to your guns. Dont give in. You know how addictive HubPages is. Once you give in you're hooked. lol. On the other hand, you can be on Facebook and have every setting to only you seeing anything if you like. The thing with these sites, they set all the default to open, but if you hunt around and find the privacy button you can be very private. They also hide the button to actually close your account. De-activating doesn't shut it, you have to find the little obscure delete button. Thanks for reading and commenting.
to me there is no end to suchlike things(facebook,or other internet websites).if someone have skills, probably he can create much more needed, interseting, and useful sites on the internet. As there will came no end for these things till the world ends itself. So it depends on a man,his ideas, his skills.Anyways Great Hub,after all it comes in many minds that if he or she did that and earn so much fame, money and respect then why not that idea comes into my mind before him or her....it's NATURAL :)
Hi Muhammed, you are certainly right, there is no end to these different websites. I think HP is a result of someones good ideas, sort of like a glorified facebook. Elance is a good one to check out if you have a skill you would like to be paid for.
Thanks for your comment Muhammed, looking forward to reading your first hub.

I also wish I created FB, but we didn't. If we did I bet we wouldn't add the Timeline! Fun hub, I'm off to get some sunshine!:)
